Harvest Supervisor – Albany WA

ABP is one of the largest, fully integrated plantation managers and plantation woodchip exporters in the world. We are a dedicated team of professionals, partnered with an experienced contractor workforce focused on safely producing and supplying a premium woodchip to our valued customers in the Asian pulp and paper sector.

ABP’s plantation estate is located within the Southwest of WA and the Green Triangle region in Southwest Victoria / Southeast SA.

We are seeking:

An enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Harvest Supervisor with high professional standards of work, to become a valued member of our Harvest team, based in Albany. You will be supervising harvest contractors to meet our harvest plan and ensure the standards required by regulatory requirements, ABP policies and procedures, OH&S and FSC.

Key tasks will include but not limited to:

  • Actively promote safe behaviours and attitudes among staff, contractors and visitors.
  • Supervising harvest operations to meet production targets whilst maintaining quality.
  • Production of Timber Harvest Plans.
  • Conduct and administer plantation inductions and record keeping.
  • Ensure compliance to ABP’s policies and procedures and FSC requirements.
  • Coordinate and implement existing quality management practices in harvesting operations while identifying opportunities for improving ABP’s operating procedures.
  • Work with contractors, using your problem-solving skills, to overcome challenges and ensure adequate resources are available to support daily volume targets.
  • Ensure processes and procedures are in place to achieve quality service provision.
  • Contribute to personal and team professional performance and development.
  • Ensure a holistic approach to operations enabling a greater result for ABP.

 

Please get in contact if you have:

  • Formal qualifications in forestry, agricultural, environmental or related discipline.
  • Previous experience working in a supervisory role, particularly supervising contractors.
  • A full driver’s license.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team to meet work standards and deadlines.
  • Strong people and communication skills to confidently interact with contractors, stakeholders, local government and staff, effectively expressing ideas.
  • Ability to use Microsoft software packages.

Experience or competency in the following would be highly regarded, but are not essential:

  • Experience in firefighting.
  • Experience in working to strict certification standards.
  • First aid qualifications.
  • Truck licence (MR)
