ABP’s Seed Orchard Manager, Megan Warner, has won the Forest & Wood Products Australia Award as part of the 2021 Science and Innovation Awards for Young People in Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. Megan will use the grant funding awarded to investigate whether beneficial bacteria and fungi can have a positive effect on growing Eucalyptus globulus (Bluegum) from cuttings. Improving the potential for cuttings deployment in the Australian forestry sector will ensure newer genotypes can be deployed sooner and ensure productivity increases in the face of challenges the industry may encounter.
